Reviews and TestimonialsAdd your review, feedback, or testimonialWe are so fortunate to have Heather Agnew
at the Toronto Star. She is by far the best yoga instructor
I have come across. Not only is her wealth of knowledge to be commended,
she is enthusiastic, motivating and a true professional! Every class
is both a challenge and a wonderful learning experience and geared
towards meeting our needs. As a fitness professional myself, I learn
from Heather on a regular basis. She is a true inspiration to myself
and to the other students at the Toronto Star. Thank you for making
our lives so much more fulfilling Heather! "Working with Heather opened up a confidence
in me that I'd never had before.~ She showed me that I could
be physically strong, and was capable of so much more than I thought.~
More than that, she was a motivating and enthusiastic~partner to
work with, and kept me laughing even on my worst days.~ Her knowledge
and professionalism about physical fitness is only surpassed by
her inspiring energy and~understanding of the~integrated~workings
of the mind~and spirit."~ I have just realized how spoiled I was to
have you as my teacher. You were so dynamic and empowering,
and I loved the way you didn't just teach me how to do the yoga
postures you taught me about yoga as well. I really do regret not
kicking myself in the butt and getting to your classes more often.
Hope you will be back soon. Heather, you are a fantastic yoga teacher,
and I really appreciated the time I got to spend with you, your
love of yoga must have rubbed of on me! Heather Agnew has become a very important person in my life. The first time I met Heather was in 1996. She was just beginning her business, and I travelled to her home to work out. I totally enjoyed the program Heather built for me and would look forward to my appointments with her. In January of this year, I reconnected with Heather, as I needed a motivator to get me on track, both with my exercising and my nutrition. She is a wealth of information in both these categories. My struggle was how to get both of these aspects going in the right direction – exercise and healthy eating. I am so happy I called Heather! Heather accommodates her clients, with regards to where and when to meet them. She has gone with me to our nearby gym to see firsthand where I exercise and what machinery I will be using. When demonstrating exercises, she is clear and ensures that I know exactly how to perform the exercise (ie: yoga, stretches, weight training). I appreciate that Heather is very easily accessible by phone or
email, whenever I have a question or just want to update her on
my progress. She is keenly interested in the welfare of her clients. Heather Agnew was my personal trainer for 4 years. When I began to work with Heather I was in my mid-forties and following a life of ballet and then, believe it or not, show jumping with horses, I had done innumerable injuries to my body. Heather was the first person to work with me who was unfazed by my peculiar variety of physical traumas and gave me courage to confront the workouts with amazing optimism. Through our workouts she introduced me to Yoga and with it a life-altering spiritual awakening. Heather’s approach to yoga is challenging yet patient and spiritual. She is uncanny in observing both the current state of her students and the direction that will help them most. She is encouraging without being fanatical. She is firm, when necessary without being stern. Heather is a fountain of information – she reads and studies constantly. Her personal training experience gives her a keen awareness of the body and her own personal spiritual commitment allows her instruction to transcend ‘just the physical’. I find it an ideal combination. Heather also has a very infectious energy and boundless reserves.
I missed her terribly when she moved to Australia and know that
any studio she joins will benefit immensely from her presence. Heather Agnew is an inspired, motivational
teacher. She creates a wonderful balance by tempering her
impressive knowledge of the various physical disciplines with a
nurturing, spiritual insight - tempered with a life-affirming, playful
sensibility. I am very pleased to have the opportunity
to recommend Heather Agnew as a personal trainer. Heather's
overall experience and commitment to continuing to be current, working
with the various sides of physical fitness and emotional well being
is ongoing. I have had personal experience this past year and half
working with Heather and have managed to obtain very positive results.
Although I am a beginner at this stage of the game and an older
woman working at a full time job, I am very confident that Heather's
knowledge and expertise is right for me as an individual. Heather's
capacity to look at her client both from the fitness side and 'life
style' side was very key for me and I feel very confident with the
programs and expertise Heather offers: a nutrition and diet program,
an exercise program tailored to meet my physical abilities, along
with yoga as a relaxation and stretching benefit. I am very glad
that Heather is back in Canada and I am looking forward to working
with her again as I continue on my journey to achieve overall fitness
and wellness. Heather's yoga classes are beautifully balanced
between mind-body and spirit. Her enthusiasm, impeccability
and openness enable her to guide new and experienced yogins to new
levels of understanding and experience...that yoga is not just 'stretching',
but a way of life. Heather's intuitive approach to yoga creates
an atmosphere that each class is specifically designed to meet the
needs or requests of the students in that moment. She's combines
the techniques of classical yoga to suit modern lifestyles; encouraging
strength, healing and ultimately balance. Heather is fun, insightful
and has definitely helped me change my life for the better. I am disappointed to have had my last class
with you today. My yoga practice and my understanding of
yoga have moved forward a great deal under your guidance. I have
limited experience with yoga teachers, but you are certainly one
of the best I have worked with. Thank you for your commitment to
us during your time here. I wish you all the best for the future. Heather - I have to tell you that I found
this month's newsletter so interesting that I made copies to give
to a co-worker and my mother. It seems the definition of
"success" is so multi-layered that your article gave us all food
for thought. In light of this, I simply thought I would drop you
a line to tell you how much I enjoyed this month's newsletter. Thanks for your latest newsletter,
I shall enjoy watching some of the movies from your selection that
I haven't seen. Your articles are inspiring and helpful, don't stop. I loved the first night of 'Beyond the Asanas'.
I have been chanting like I've been at it my whole life,
not just a few days, I find it very soothing and also invigorating
at the same time. As always, your newsletter is great.
The stretches for the office workers are great, I have printed a
copy and have it visible to remind me to do them frequently. I hope
life is treating you well in Australia. I miss your classes. Your
new students are fortunate to have you there. Praise for Heather Agnew and her article
“Garden Fit”. Her use of Tai Chi, Yoga, and simple meditations
for outdoor fitness are nothing less than inspired. I really enjoyed your (Living at Your Desk) talk today. Initially
I was not going to come because I thought it was just going to be
another one of those "talks" that you walk away from and don't take
much with you. Thank you. The energy/calmness that you radiate really
speaks volumes that you know what you are talking about and that
you do practice what you preach. |
